Educational Objectives

In relation to the goal of improving patient care, participants of this symposium will be able to:

  • Discuss updates in women’s mental health care and depression in women across lifespan. 
  • Describe issues related to women’s health research.
  • Examine mental health topics associated with aging, breast cancer, emotional differences, sleep disorders, reproductive health, resiliency and stress, schizophrenia, domestic violenceand headaches.

Accreditation

MEDICINE: The University of Arizona College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Arizona College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

NURSING: This CE activity for 5 contact hours, has been approved by the Arizona Nurses’ Association, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. AZNA and ANCC Commission on Accreditation do not approve or endorse any commercial products displayed.

PSYCHOLOGY: This program is co-sponsored by the Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA) and the University of Arizona College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center. The Arizona Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education to psychologists. AzPA maintains responsibility for this program. 5 hours of Arizona category 1 credit may be earned.

SOCIAL WORKERS can apply for CE hours by presenting their certificate of attendance to their accredited provider. Other accrediting bodies usually accept these CE hours as reciprocal hours.



Certificates will be distributed at the end of the symposium.

Registration and Tuition

Complete the Registration Form and return it with payment of $35.  Residents, Medical, Nursing and other graduate students can attend on a scholarship basis, and must provide proof of status with their registration form. 

ALL participants paying after March 15, 2005 must pay the $20 late fee. To guarantee a spot to attend this event, payment must be made prior to April 16, 2005. Registration is not complete without payment. There is no guarantee that walk-ins can be accommodated. 

Checks must be made payable to:  The University of Arizona Foundation.  Tuition includes comprehensive syllabus course materials, tote bag, general and breakout session lectures and exhibits, CME/CE certificate, continental breakfast and lunch.
