Barbara Pritchard, Ph.D. - Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry

Dr. Pritchard, a clinical psychologist, earned her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. Her areas of interest include psychoanalytic psychotherapy, eating disorders, personality disorders, chronic depression and women's issues. She teaches an introductory course on psychodynamic theory for second year residents, a one-way screen seminar on psychodynamic psychotherapy for third year residents, and an advanced psychodynamic theory and therapy course for fourth year residents, as well as a seminar module on eating disorders. She also supervises psychiatry residents and psychology interns doing long-term psychotherapy. Dr. Pritchard has received numerous teaching awards from the senior residents for her contribution to their training.

Dr. Pritchard is also the site supervisor for nationwide research studies utilizing the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy for Chronic Depression (CBASP). Her research efforts in this area have been recognized by the Arizona State Psychological Association.
