Christine Pletkova, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry
Dr. Pletkova is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the University of Arizona, Department of Psychiatry at the University Physicians Healthcare Hospital, at the Kino Campus.
Dr. Pletkova completed British system High School ordinary and advanced Level; she received a full governmental scholarship in Ghana. She later completed 3 years nursing education in Britain, 6 months physical therapy schooling in London, but did not complete due to receiving full governmental scholarship to study medicine in Czechoslovakia. She then completed medical schooling and residency in General Surgery. She is Board Certification in Surgery.
Upon arriving in the United States she spent one year in general medicine
in Pennsylvania. She then decided to go into general psychiatry and completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Children’s Hospital in Washington D.C. She then became faculty member and taught at the Medical School at George Washington University. She has been an Attending at several medical centers, including West Yavapai Guidance Center in Prescott AZ, Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and Crozer Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
