Joanna Katsanis, Ph.D. - Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Anesthesiology and Psychology

Joanna Katsanis is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Anesthesiology and Psychology at the University of Arizona. She completed her B.A. and M.A. degree at Carleton University, Ottawa Canada and her doctoral and postdoctoral degree at the University of Minnesota. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, insomnia and pain management in adults and children. 

Dr. Katsanis has received several awards recognizing her clinical and research contributions, from the International Congress of Schizophrenia Research and the National Alliance for Research in Schizophrenia and Affective Disorder organizations. She has received a training award from the psychology interns at the Department of Psychiatry. Her professional writings have appeared in national and international journals including the Journal of Abnormal Psychology, Biological Psychiatry and American Journal of Psychiatry. Dr. Katsanis teaches seminars at the Department of Psychiatry and mentors psychiatry residents and psychology interns in psychotherapy.
