Integrative Medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.
The Integrative Psychiatry Clinic will emphasize the above philosophy in conjunction with standard psychiatric care.
Services provided by the Integrative Psychiatry clinic will include:
- integrative psychiatric evaluation, which includes a mind-body evaluation and recommendations for nutrition, botanical medicine, relaxation and other mind-body techniques, other complementary and alternative techniques, as well as conventional medications.
- ongoing care through our clinic or continued consultation with your primary psychiatrist
- Mind-Body Skills educational group - 12 weeks duration, beginning in early 2005
- referral to local therapists and complementary and alternative practitioners
