  Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic
 

The Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic of the University of Arizona/University Physicians Department of Psychiatry provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults ages birth-21 years. We provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment services that include:

  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Psychological testing
  • Individual verbal and play therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Parent education
  • Behavior Management
  • Medication management
  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Consultation referral available to other providers at UMC
  • Coordination of care with schools, CPS, PCP's and other service providers 

Appointments may be scheduled by calling our clinic at (520) 626-7664 Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm. The Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic is located on the seventh floor of University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Avenue, Tucson, Arizona 85724. Twenty-four hour emergency and crisis services are available through the University Medical Center Emergency Room. University Physicians, Inc. (UPI),  professional staff includes University of Arizona Psychiatry Department faculty as well as advanced trainees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, and psychiatric nursing.

The Infant and Preschool Program
(ages birth through 6)
Mondays 1pm-5pm

Specializes in autism spectrum disorders and serves families with young children with the following problems:
  • Hyperactivity
  • Distractibility
  • Aggression
  • Disruptive behaviors
  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Developmental disorders
  • Social interaction
  • Sleep of appetite disturbance

The Child Psychiatry Clinic
(ages 7-12)
Thursdays 1pm-5pm

 
Director: Tom Reichenbacher, M.D.
 
Specializes in behavior disorders and serves families with children with the following problems:

  • Hyperactivity, inattention, and aggression
  • Depression, mood swings and suicidal thoughts
  • Anxiety problems
  • Problems that impair progress in school
  • Problems related to past or current traumatic events
  • Problems that may be related to ongoing severe medical problems

The Adolescent and Young Adult Clinic
(Ages 13-21)
Wednesdays 1pm-5pm

 
Director: Harinder S. Ghuman, M.D.
 
Specializes in mood and anxiety disorders and serves families with adolescents and young adults for problems with:

  • Mood problems such as depression, mood swings and suicidal thoughts
  • Sleep and appetite disturbances
  • Behavior problems including hyperactivity, and aggression
  • Problems with attention and concentration leading to academic difficulties in school, college and at work
  • Anxiety, excessive fears, panic attacks
  • Problems related to severe physical or emotional trauma
